Themes

The theme of the story is fiting in. I think that because in the beggining of the story all Luke wanted to do is fit in. And in the middle of the book Luke is starting to make friends but even though he does fitting in is a huge goal. But since he is a shadow child it is hard for Luke to fit in. He can only fit in with other shadow children like him. Every single time he tried to fit in he failed like with Rolly though he was a mean boy Luke couldn't match him he didn't fight fire with fire. And when Mr.Talbot gave Luke the note even though Luke thought it would be the seceret to his success but all it said was fit in therefore I think fitting in is the theme.
